No accounts and no ad trackers. Here's everything the site keeps, and the one thing we keep on our side.

These live in your browser's storage. They never leave your phone or computer, and clearing your browser data removes them.

The Island Buddies waitlist

This is the one thing we keep on our side. When you join, we save your email, the buddy you picked, your trip month if you typed one, and the date. We use it for one thing: emailing you when the Island Buddies launch. It sits in private storage with our host (Vercel), and we never sell or share it.

Want off the list, or want us to delete it? Email hello@amiexplorer.com from that address and we'll remove it.

Your location

When you tap Near me, your browser asks first. Distances and walk times are worked out right on your device, and your location isn't sent to us or saved. Say no and everything else still works.

What we don't do

  • No advertising trackers and no cookies for tracking. We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or follow you to other sites.
  • No selling or sharing of personal information.
  • The contact form doesn't send anything itself. It opens your own email app, and you decide whether to hit send.

Other sites

Reserve, Book, Menu and Website buttons take you to the business or booking service, which has its own privacy policy. Live conditions come from NOAA, the National Weather Service and Florida Fish & Wildlife; our server fetches those, so your browser doesn't talk to them directly. Map pictures are the one exception: your browser loads them straight from OpenStreetMap's tile servers. Like any website, our host may keep basic server logs.
