Good to know
Don't get a parking ticket
Each of the three cities writes its own rules, and they do write tickets. The big ones: face the way traffic goes, and keep your tires off the pavement.
Anna Maria
- Park facing the same way as traffic.
- Where roadside parking is allowed, all four tires go off the pavement.
- Not on a sidewalk, within 15 ft of a hydrant, within 20 ft of a crosswalk, within 30 ft of a stop sign, or across a driveway.
- No angle parking unless a sign says so.
Holmes Beach
- Right hand wheels parallel with traffic. Facing the wrong way gets a ticket.
- In the right of way, every tire has to be off the road.
- Not within 20 ft of a crosswalk, 30 ft of a stop sign or intersection, or 15 ft of a hydrant, and never on a bike path.
- No parking at Manatee Public Beach from 10pm to 6am.
Fines: $75 for most violations, $250 for handicap spaces or blocking emergency access. Late fees start after 10 days.
Bradenton Beach
- City lots around Bridge Street are free and close at 9pm. No overnight parking.
- Pay by plate lots are private. The city has no say over those tickets, so read the sign before you walk away.
- Coquina and Cortez beaches have big county lots where the trolley turns around.
Easiest fix of all: park once and ride the free trolley. Public lots are listed under restrooms & parking, and beach access points with parking are on the map.
